Tiger’s Nest, Taktsang Monastery
Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger's Nest, was built in 1692 and is the most iconic landmark of Bhutan. Clinging to a sheer cliff at 3,100 meters above sea level, it is the country's most visited site, drawing pilgrims and travelers who come to walk through living history, find inner peace, and challenge themselves on its mountain trail. A visit to Taktsang not only awakens the spirit but also offers a deeper understanding of Bhutan's culture and soul.
Phobjikha Valley
Nestled at about 3,000 meters in central Bhutan, Phobjikha is a wide, glacial valley of meadows, dwarf bamboo, and misty forested hills, crowned by the centuries-old Gangtey Monastery. Its serenity is unmatched, with slow walks, fluttering prayer flags, and starlit evenings that make it a cherished escape for couples seeking romance. Each winter, from late October, the valley becomes the sacred home of the endangered black-necked crane, which travels from the Tibetan Plateau and circles Gangtey Monastery three times on arrival.

Planning a journey to Bhutan

SDF is a government levy paid by visitors to Bhutan. It funds conservation, culture and public services. It is not a hotel charge.
International adults currently pay US$100 per night. Children aged 6–11 pay US$50. Children under 6 pay no SDF. This US$100 figure is a published concession on the statutory US$200 rate, advertised through 31 August 2027.
Indian nationals pay Nu. 1,200 per adult per night (Nu. 600 for children 6–11). With Yeti Tours & Trek, SDF is already included in your package price.
