Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
ARRIVAL IN PARO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT: Nestled amidst the Himalayan mountains at an elevation of 2235 metres, the airport offers one of the world’s most scenic flight experiences, with breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and verdant valleys. Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, Guests will be warmly welcomed by our guide and driver. After completing immigration and baggage formalities, begins your journey into the kingdom of Bhutan. Drive Paro- Thimphu (1 hr) Begin a scenic drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan, following the beautiful Paro and Wang chhu river valleys. Lunch at Thimphu: upon reaching Thimphu, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before commencing sightseeing. Visit Buddha Statue: After lunch, visit largest sitting Buddha statue in the world. Perched on a hilltop overlooking Thimphu Valley, this sacred site offers breathtaking panoramic views of the capital city and surrounding mountains. Admire the magnificence of this iconic landmark while capturing memorable photographs of the stunning scenery. Check-in Hotel: After completing the day’s sightseeing, proceed to the hotel for check-in. Relax and unwind after your journey while enjoying the comfort and hospitality of your accommodation.
Day 2: Thimphu- Punakha
Breakfast at Hotel Visit Takin Preserve Centre: After breakfast, visit the Takin Park, home to Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin. Surrounded by peaceful forest setting and offers visitors a chance to observe this unique and fascinating creature while learning about its cultural and historical significance in Bhutan. Drive Thimphu to Punakha: After lunch drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass (3100m) The pass is famous for its 108 memorial stupas and on clear days offers breathtaking views of the snow-capped Himalayan mountain range. Lunch En Route Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility): Upon reaching Punakha visit Chimi Lhakhang, a reversed monastery dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kinley, popularly known as the ‘’Divine madman’’ The temple is widely believed to bless couples seeking fertility and children. Punakha Dzong: Visit majestic Punakha Dzong, often regarded as the most beautiful fortress in Bhutan. Situated at the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo chu rivers. Overnight stay in Punakha
Day 3: Punakha- Paro
Drive back to Paro via Dochula Kyichu Lhakhang: Upon arrival in Paro, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan. Built in the 7th century by the Tibetan king Songtshen Gempo. Leisure time in Paro Town: In the evening, enjoy free time to explore Paro Town at your own pace. Stroll through the charming street, browse local handicraft shops and visit cozy cafes.
Day 4: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery
After breakfast, embark on a memorable hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktshnag) Bhutan’s most sacred landmark, dramatically perched on a cliff face approx. 900 meters above the Paro Valley, the most revered pilgrimage sites in the Himalayan kingdom. The hike takes you through beautiful pine forests and provides an opportunity to experience Bhutan’s spiritual heritage and natural beauty. According to legend, Guru Rinpoche flew to this sacred site on the back of a tigress and meditated here. After exploring the monastery and enjoying the spectacular scenery, hike back to the base and return to the hotel. Return to the hotel
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey. As your Bhutan adventure comes to an end, bid farewell to the land of Happiness. We wish you safe flight and look forward to welcoming you back to Bhutan in the future.
