Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to the Kingdom of happiness

Your Bhutan adventure begins as you arrive at Paro International Airport, one of the world’s most spectacular mountain airports. Surrounded by pristine valleys, fluttering prayer flags and snow-capped mountains, after meeting your guide and completing arrival formalities, embark on a picturesque drive to Thimphu, the capital city, following the wang chu rivers through beautiful Himalayan landscapes. Upon reaching Thimphu, enjoy a leisurely lunch before beginning your exploration of the city. Visit the majestic Buddha Dordenma, an awe-inspiring monument that overlooks the entire Thimphu valley. Later, check in to your hotel and take some time to relax. In the evening, experience the unique atmosphere of Thimphu, Stroll through local markets, observe daily Bhutanese life and soak in the charm of capital before settling in for an overnight stay in Thimphu

Day 2: Explore Thimphu

After breakfast, begin the day with the scenic Wangditse NatureHike, a peaceful trail winding through fragrant pine forests and offering breathtaking views of Thimphu Valley. The hike leads to the historic Wangditse Lhakhang. Continue to the Motithang Takin Park, home to Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before proceeding to the next sightseeing. Next, Visit Zilukha Nunnery, one of the largest nunneries in Bhutan. Surrounded by prayer flags and overlooking the valley, this tranquil sanctuary offers insight into the daily lives of Buddhist nuns and the spiritual traditions the uphold. Proceed to the institute of Astrology, where ancient Bhutanese astrological practices continue to guide important aspects of life. Discover how astrology influences Bhutanese culture, from naming ceremonies and auspicious dates to religious and personal decisions. Return to your hotel in the evening and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 3: Thimphu- Punakha

After breakfast, drive to Punakha through scenic valleys and hillside villages. Stop at Dochula Pass, where 108 chortens and prayer flags mark one of Bhutan’s best viewpoints, with clear-day Himalayan views. Continue to Punakha for lunch at a local restaurant, then visit chimi Lhakhang, the famous fertility temple linked to Lam Drukpa Kuenley. Set among rice fields, it is a peaceful and culturally rich stop. Next, explore Punakha Dzong, a striking fortress at the meeting point of the Pho chu and Mo chu rivers. Known for its elegant architecture and historic importance, it is one of Bhutan’s finest landmarks. Later, walk across the longest suspension bridge over the Pho chu river. Afterward, check in to hotel and enjoy an overnight stay in Punakha.

Day 4: Punakha- Gantey

Begin the morning with a rewarding hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyel Chorten, one of the Bhutan’s most beautiful hilltop Chorten, where spectacular 360 degree views of the Punakha Valley, river systems and surrounding mountains await. After the hike, continue your journey towards the pristine Phobjikha Valley, The route gradually ascends through forests and mountain roads, crossing Lawala Pass, which marks the entrance to the Phobjikha region. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch before visiting Gangtey Monastery, a prominent Nyingma Buddhist monastery and one of the most significant religious institutions in central Bhutan. Later, explore Phobjikha Valley, a broad glacial valley known for its traditional villages and rich cultural heritage. During the winter season, the valley serves as the habitat of the endangered Black-necked cranes that migrate from the Tibet. Overnight stay in Phobjikha

Day 5: Gangtey to Paro

After breakfast, depart from gangtey and begin the journey back to Paro. En route, travel through Wangdue Phodrang and cross Dochula Pass before continuing towards paro. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant along the way. Upon arrival in Paro, visit the historic Paro Dzong, one of Bhutan’s finest examples of traditional architecture and an important admirative and religious centre. Continue to the National Museum of Bhutan, which houses an extensive collection of artifacts, traditional costumes and religious relics and cultural heritage. After sightseeing, check in to your hotel and enjoy evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 6: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery

After breakfast, embark on a memorable hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktshnag) Bhutan’s most sacred landmark, dramatically perched on a cliff face approx. 900 meters above the Paro Valley, the most revered pilgrimage sites in the Himalayan kingdom. The hike takes you through beautiful pine forests and provides an opportunity to experience Bhutan’s spiritual heritage and natural beauty. According to legend, Guru Rinpoche flew to this sacred site on the back of a tigress and meditated here. After completing the hike wander through Paro town, browse local handicraft shops, visit traditional cafes.

Day 7: Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey. Your journey concludes here, carrying with it the spirit of Bhutan and experiences to cherish for years to come.
