Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to the Kingdom of happiness
Touch down in Paro, where Bhutan’s dramatic mountains and traditional architecture provide a memorable welcome. After meeting your guide, travel to Thimphu, the country’s capital. Spend the afternoon discovering the towering giant Buddha Dordenma, a symbol of peace overlooking the valley below. Day 2: Explore Thimphu
Today’s experiences reveal the quieter side of Thimphu. Walk the wangditse trail through hills before visiting the Takin Park, home to Bhutan’s unique national animal. Continue to Zilukha Nunnery, where Buddhist nuns dedicate their lives to study and practice. Later, gain insight into Bhutanese traditions at the Institute of Astrology, where ancient calculations continue to guide important life events. Overnight stay in Thimphu
Day 3: Thimphu- Punakha
Leaving the capital behind, journey eastwards Punakha. Pause at Dochula Pass, marked by 108 memorial chortens. Upon reaching Punakha, visit Chimi Lhankhang, a temple beloved by locals and pilgrims alike. The day continues at the majestic Punakha Dzong, followed by walk across the suspension bridge spanning the Pho chu river. Overnight stay in Punakha
Day 4: Punakha- Gantey
Begin the morning with a hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, an architectural masterpiece rising above the valley floor. Continue through Wangdue Phodrang and Over Lawala Pass as the landscape gradually changes on the way to Gangtey. Visit the renowned Gangtey Monastery before exploring the wide glacial basin of Phobjikha, one of Bhutan’s most important conversation areas. Overnight stay in Gangtey
Day 5: Gangtey to Paro
Depart Gangtey and retrace your route back to Paro. Upon arrival in Paro, step into country’s at Rinpung Dzong, afortress-monastery that has stood for centuries. Nearby, the National Museum offers a deeper understanding of Bhutan’s history, art, religion and royal heritage. Overnight stay in Paro
Day 6: Discover the hidden Haa valey
Cross the dramatic Chelela Pass into the remote district of Haa, a region that remains largely untouched by mass tourism. Visit the sacred white temple and Black temple, landmarks closely linked to local legends and spiritual traditions. Spend time observing village life and learning about a community that has preserved its customs through generations before returning to Paro. Overnight stay in Paro
Day 7: Tiger’s Nest Hike
No visit to Bhutan is complete without the ascent to Taktshang Monastery. Clinging to a sheer cliff face high above the valley, Tiger’s Nest is both a pilgrimage site and a national symbol. After the hike, enjoy a relaxed afternoon exploring Paro’s markets, cafes and traditional handicraft stores. Overnight stay in Paro
Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward flight. As your journey concludes, carry home memories of monasteries, mountain passes, living traditions and the unique spirit that makes Bhutan unlike anywhere else in the world.
